Developer Nolimit City has announced the launch of its brand-new video slot, Rock Bottom.
The gloomy new casino game is set in dark allies and dangerous streets, with shady characters appearing on the game’s reels.
Rock Bottom uses a 3x4x4x4x3 grid layout with 576 paylines, and it has an RTP of 96.04% with high variance, which means you’re more likely to make large, infrequent wins over regular small ones.
The game requires a bet of between £0.20 and £100 per spin, and its symbols include a clown, a woman, a man in a purple hat, a man in a black vest, and a man in sunglasses. There are also the usual A, K, Q, J, and 10 symbols too.
Rock Bottom comes with several special features, including xSplit symbols that can only land in the base game on the middle three reels. When they land, xSplit symbols split themselves and character symbols on the same row and adjacent positions to the row on the first and fifth reels.
The xSplit symbol splits itself into two Wild symbols and can split character symbols up to three times to make them the size of two, four or eight. xSplit does not affect Scatter or low-paying symbols.
During the main game, landing three or more Scatter symbols trigger a Bonus Mode. Landing three to four Scatter symbols triggers five Headshrinker Spins, while landing five Scatter symbols triggers five Insanity Spins. An extra spin is awarded for every Nudge of the Scatter symbols to reach the bottom row.
The Headshrinker Spins feature starts on stage one and can progress to stage five. For each stage, the character symbol connected to the stages will expand to become four symbols high to cover entire reels.
Character symbols connected to stages that have not yet been reached will increase its win multiplier by one for each of its landing symbols on the reels, which is applied to all its winning combinations. Finally, landing Scatter symbols awards an extra spin and collecting five progresses you to the next level with an extra two spins.
The Insanity Spins feature has five stages too, and each character symbol connected to the stage will transform into an Expanding Wild symbol that covers its respective reel. Character symbols connected to stages that haven’t been reached increase its multiplier and landing more Scatter symbols awards extra spins and unlocks the next level, like in the Headshrinker Spins feature.
The game also has an xCap feature, which is triggered when your win exceeds 1969x your base bet. When this happens, you’ll be given a choice to reveal your downfall and can pick to reveal a random multiplier of 2x, 3x, 5x, 7x, and 10x, which is then applied to your base bet win.
Per Lindheimer, the Product Owner at Nolimit City, said in a statement via European Gaming: “They say after hitting rock bottom, the only way is up.
“We here at Nolimit City say it can get worse, much worse! This is a frenetic and highly volatile slot that will no doubt have you doubting your own eyes. Rock Bottom is a shameless Nolimit City release… This world doesn’t take nicely to strangers – so tread carefully!”
The news also comes after live casino provider Evolution completed its acquisition of Nolimit City back in August 2022.
