Dublin Woman Wins €50,000 on Scratchcard after Helping Homeless Man

Dublin Grandmother Wins €50,000 on Lotto Scratchcard Moments after Helping Homeless Man

A grandmother from Dublin, Ireland, won €50,000 on a National Lottery scratch card just moments after helping a homeless man.

The woman purchased the winning All Cash Extravaganza scratch card at the Londis store in the Fonthill Retail Park in Dublin 22. She couldn’t believe it when she found out she had won €50,000.

“I was meeting my friend for a coffee and, while I was waiting, I started talking to a man who had obviously come upon hard times,” the compassionate grandmother described her experience on the lucky day.

“I gave him just a small amount of money which he was going to use to get some shelter for the night. He was incredibly grateful and he promised me that my act of kindness would be rightly rewarded in time and he told me that my next National Lottery purchase would be a lucky one.”

After that, she decided to visit a shop nearby and bought a scratch card to test out her luck.

“I had a €20 win to collect on a previous scratch card so instead of taking the cash I decided to buy a €20 scratch card which I would never have had considered before.

“When I finally met my friend for coffee, we started scratching it together at the table and we just couldn’t believe it as the €50,000 symbol appeared before our eyes.

“We thought there was a mistake until we called the National Lottery,”

Well-rewarded for her kindness, the woman said it was a very emotional day for her but she allowed herself to enjoy it.

“I haven’t even had time to process the win let alone think about what I’m going to do with the money,” she said.

Meanwhile, back in the UK, a woman won £1 million in EuroMillions three weeks after pranking her husband by telling him she had won £250,000 in the lottery. Charlotte Peart, a mother-of-three, successfully match five numbers of the EuroMillions HotPick in the August 28 draw.
