Developer Pragmatic Play has adapted the classic Snakes And Ladders board game for its brand new slot, Snakes And Ladders Megadice.
The brand new retro-inspired game offers a new twist on the classic board game with artwork influenced by an old-school 8-bit aesthetic and a variety of animal-based symbols to enjoy.
Snakes And Ladders Megadice uses a 5×3 grid layout with 10 paylines, and it has an RTP of 96.68% with high volatility, which means players are more likely to make infrequent large wins over regular small ones.
The slot requires a bet of between £0.10 and £100 per spin, and its symbols include monkeys, bananas, snakes, ladders, dice, bonus symbols, and the traditional A, K, Q, J, and 10 symbols too.
The Snakes And Ladders Megadice game comes with various special features, including Wild symbols that are represented by dice. These Wild symbols substitute for all symbols but the Bonus symbols. Whenever they land, the dice symbols will have between one to three dots, representing a Multiplier of between 1x and 3x that applies to the player’s spin.
The base game has a progressive Snakes And Ladders feature with 11 sections. When the game’s bet is changed, the feature is restarted. Wild dice symbols activate a number of sections depending on the number of dots landed. When all 11 sections are activated, the Bonus game is awarded.
While playing, if a Wild dice symbol activates the fourth section exactly, players will be awarded with up to five rolls in the Bonus game once all 11 sections have been activated.
As mentioned, the Bonus game is activated by activating all 11 sections in the base game or landing three or more Bonus symbols. If players activate all sections, players will be given 12 dice rolls with any extras up to a maximum of 17. If players landed Bonus symbols, players will receive between 12 and 16 dice rolls dependent on the number of Bonus symbols that landed.
The Bonus game is played on a grid of 12×12, and the player is represented by a monkey head that starts on the first square. Random items are placed in random squares across the grid, including cash, Multipliers, ladders, snakes, and more. In this section, players will play the traditional game of Snakes And Ladders by rolling the dice with their limited number of rolls, with the random items affecting the game’s outcome.
Squares can have random shortcuts, moving the monkey to a higher position on the board. The round ends when players use up all of their dice rolls or reach the end of the game. When the feature ends, the total amount of funds collected is awarded. If the funds collected are under 20x the player’s bet, the monkey will enter Rage Mode, where it’ll move to the end of the board and collect all values and Multipliers in its way.
Players are given a chance to retrigger the Bonus if the monkey reaches the end of the board in Range Mode, and the number of dice rolls will be the same in the retriggered Bonus game as it was when players first started it. The Bonus game can be queued up multiple times to help create more wins.
Yossi Barzely, the Chief Business Development Officer at Pragmatic Play, said in a statement: “Snakes And Ladders Megadice blends all the joys of playing classic board games with the action and excitement of modern gaming experiences.
“We are thrilled with how the aesthetics and bonus features have combined to create such a multifaceted experience for our players, and hope that the feedback reflects the hard work that went into the development process.”
