Leading game developer NetEnt has announced the launch of its latest video slot, the sci-fi-themed title Space Wars 2 Powerpoints.
The game is a sequel to the original Space Wars slot from 2013, and it continues following the extraterrestrials as they embark on new adventures throughout the game.
Space Wars 2 Powerpoints uses a 6×6 layout with an RTP of 92% and high volatility, which means you’re more likely to make infrequent large wins when playing. It also has a Cluster pay mechanic, where you must make clusters of matching symbols to land wins.
The game’s symbols are all based on extraterrestrial aliens, all of which come in different shapes, designs, and colours. There are also crystals and space rocks in the slot too.
The Space Wars 2 Powerpoints slot comes with several special features, including an avalanche mechanic, where winning clusters of symbols disappear and are replaced by new symbols that can make more wins and repeat the mechanic.
What’s more, creating a three-symbol match awards a Wild symbol that appears in place of one of the removed symbols. Wild symbols substitute for other symbols to help make more wins.
The game has Powerpoints, which are awarded whenever you make a winning match. The Powerpoints are then collected in a meter, and, as it increases, you’ll move up levels and increase your win multiplier.
When you collect 1,000 or more Powerpoints, you trigger the Free Spins mode, with the number of spins dependent on the amount of Powerpoints awarded. The Free Spins mode is played on a grid of 8×6 and you have the chance to win additional spins within the feature.
Creating a four-symbol horizontal match triggers the Column Blaster symbol, which removes all symbols in the same column except for Wild symbols and feature symbols. The Row Blaster works in the same ways, and both add Powerpoints to the meter.
Landing a five-symbol or six-symbol match triggers the Zapper symbol, which removes several symbols from the reels. For a five-symbol match, one to four symbols are removed and for a six-symbol match, three to four symbols are removed.
Whenever a winning cluster is made and all wins evaluated, a Bomb symbol appears and removes all symbols, except Wild and feature symbols, from the reels, including itself. The number of symbols the Bomb symbol removes is dependent on its location.
There are also combinations, such as landing Blaster and Bomb symbols, which triggers Combo 1 and result in several symbols being removed from the reels. The symbols removed from the reels will depend on whether you trigger the Column or Row Blaster.
There’s the Combo 2, which is triggered when you land a Zapper and Bomb symbol. When this happens, one to three symbols transform into Bomb symbols, which are then activated to remove symbols from the reels.
Then there’s Combo 3, which is triggered when you land Zapper and Blaster symbols. When this happens, one to three symbols transform into Blaster symbols and are then activated.
Finally, the Space Wars 2 Powerpoints slot has a Buy Feature, where you can trigger the Free Spins mode for a price of up to 250 times your bet.
