Developers Yggdrasil And ReelPlay Release New Arthurian Video Slot

Towering Pays Excalibur

Developers Yggdrasil and ReelPlay have partnered with GamesLab to launch their new Arthurian video slot, Towering Pays Excalibur.

The brand new casino game uses a 5×3 layout with 65 paylines, and it has an RTP of 95.68% with medium to high variance, which means you’re more likely to make infrequent large wins over regular small ones.

Towering Pays Excalibur requires a bet of between £0.25 and £25 per spin, and its symbols include King Arthur, Lancelot, Merlin, Camelot, Morgana, a horse, a wolf, and the traditional playing card suits too.

Special Features

The Towering Pays Excalibur slot comes with several special features, including Wild symbols represented by King Arthur that substitute for all other symbols except Excalibur, the Shield, and the Feature Wheel.

Excalibur Magic is a feature in which Excalibur appears on the first, second, and third reels in normal play and the Lancelot and Merlin features. It appears on the first, second, third, and fourth reels in Arthur and Camelot features, and it may appear on all reels in the Camelot feature when played on a 5×8 grid. All Excalibur symbols transform into one random symbol.

A Quest Bet of 15 units can be played to enable the Hold and Spin feature. The feature can be triggered by any Feature wheel or from Excalibur Magic, where six or more Shield symbols land. If played, Excalibur may transform into Shield symbols.

The Stage Play is a special feature that is played on a 5×3 grid with 15 paylines. Whenever Excalibur appears in at least one position of each reel that has Excalibur symbols, play continues to the next stage. Each stage adds one additional row and 10 paylines and continues to grow until it reaches a 5×8 grid. Stage Play is reset at the end of the Avalon feature.

Towering Pays Excalibur also has Prize Multipliers that can occur on any winning spin, starting at 2x until 10x your win. There are also Feature Wheels, triggered by landing the Feature Wheel symbol on the first, third, and fifth reels. Ordinary Feature Wheels can award any of the game’s special features or improved Feature Wheels with varying special features, while the Free Spins Feature Wheel only awards spins.

One special feature is the Win Spins, in which Excalibur will grow to cover either the first, second or third reel on a winning spin. There’s also the Avalon special feature, which consists of up to four Avalon Feature Wheels, which can trigger any of the game’s Free Spins modes with modifiers like Hold and Spin or Bet Bonuses.

All Free Spins features consist of six spins and are played in a 5×3 grid following Excalibur Magic. One extra free spin is awarded whenever Excalibur appears in at least one position of the grid on each reel that Excalibur symbols.

The Free Spins include Lancelot Free Spins with six spins where a prize Multiplier may be triggered; Merlin Free Spins with six spins where a Multiplier is guaranteed; Arthur Free Spins with six spins where a Multiplier may appear and Excalibur can appear on the first four reels; and Camelot Free Spins with six spins where a Multiplier may appear and Excalibur can land on all reels.

The Hold and Spin feature is triggered when six or more Shield symbols appear anywhere from Excalibur Magic, or it can be triggered via the Feature Wheel when playing the Quest Bet. During the feature, three respins are awarded with triggering shields held in place. Triggering more than six Shields from Excalibur Magic increases the respins grid by one row up to a maximum of a 5×8 grid.

Finally, the game has a Buy Bonus, which can be used to purchase the Free Spins feature. It awards between two and seven Win Spins on a 5×8 grid or one of the Free Spin features from a Feature Wheel.
