Game developer Blue Guru Games has announced the release of its latest slot, Reel Big Fish.
The brand-new casino game pays tribute to fishermen, and sees you try to uncover wins through the slot’s various special features.
The Reel Big Fish slot uses a 5×3 layout with 20 paylines, and it has an RTP of 96.51% with medium volatility, which means you’re given an equal chance to make both big and small wins.
Symbols in the Reel Big Fish slot include buoys, various fish, compasses, wild fishing nets, fishing hooks, and the usual playing card symbols too.
Reel Big Fish will be available with all Blue Guru Games’ partnered mobile casinos from Wednesday, October 5th, 2022.
The Reel Big Fish slot comes with several special features, including Wild symbols that substitute for other symbols. If a Wild symbol lands on the reel alongside fish symbols, the fish symbols will pay a random cash prize and Multipliers are added to the cash prize for each additional Wild.
Landing three Scatter symbols triggers the Free Spins mode, and landing a Golden Scatter activates the column at level three. A meter above each reel shows a value of between zero and three, and each Scatter increases the value above the corresponding reel.
According to Blue Guru Games, there are three levels of fish values collected via the activation levels of columns, and Golden Scatter symbols increase the meter to three while triggering the Free Spins. Each Scatter symbol also adds a free spin.
Kristian Hassall of Blue Guru Games said in a statement via EuropeanGaming: “At Blue Guru, we believe in strong ideas and narratives and stunning audio-visuals. After releasing a game about space octopuses invading the planet, we wanted to come back down to Earth.
“One of the games team had always wanted to do a fishing game so, on the premise that nobody believes fisherman’s tales, we allowed a departure from our normal narrative-driving games.”
Hassall added: “As the novelist John Buchan said, ‘The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope’. That’s an analogy that also lends itself perfectly to playing slots…”
