Casino Player Wins €2M Jackpot In Sherlock & Moriarty WowPot Slot

Sherlock & Moriarty WowPot Slot

An online casino player has become the latest to win a Microgaming jackpot in the Sherlock & Moriarty slot.

Last week, leading game provider Microgaming announced that its WowPot progressive jackpot has been won for a second time in less than a week, coming days after a 32Red player won a whopping €17.5 million on Book Of Atem: WowPot.

On April 19, 2021, a Belgian player at Napoleon Sports & Casino Online struck a €2,025,388.75 win on Microgaming’s Sherlock & Moriarty WowPot. Like all other Microgaming jackpots, the €2 million win will be paid out as a lump sum rather than dividends.

The win marks the second-largest win on the WowPot network and is the largest jackpot won via the Sherlock & Moriarty WowPot slot.

The popular video slot was developed by Just For The Win for Microgaming and is the fifth game in the WowPot jackpot network. Based on famous detective Sherlock Holmes, the slot takes place in Victorian-era London and is jam-packed with numerous special features and other mechanics.

Sherlock & Moriarty paid a whopping €440,481.82 on its first day after launch and has since awarded more than €3.5 million in jackpot prizes.  Following the most recent win, the WowPot jackpot across all slots has reset to its starting figure of €2 million, while Microgaming’s Mega Moolah jackpot network inches closer to €18.5 million.

John Coleman, the CEO at Microgaming, said in a statement: “Remarkable to see a second hit on WowPot just days after the first! Sherlock & Moriarty is a beautifully crafted game by Just For The Win, and even though it launched network-wide less than a month ago, it has already awarded more than 58,000 wins across all jackpot tiers.”

He added: “My congratulations go to Napoleon and their player on this brilliant win.”

Tim De Borle, the CEO at Napoleon Sports & Casino Online, added: “Our lucky player is on cloud nine and so are we! Jackpot games are an important and exciting asset in our portfolio, and we are delighted to have a great partner like Microgaming who provides these wonderful games. Let’s go for a new record.”

Yggdrasil Launches New Robin – Sherwood Marauders Slot

Meanwhile, Yggdrasil has announced the launch of a brand new video slot, Robin – Sherwood Marauders, developed by Peter & Sons under the YG Masters programme.

The brand new slot is based on the well-known tale of Robin Hood and his merry men who stole from the rich to give to the poor, and the game is set in the darkest depths of the notorious Sherwood Forest.

Robin – Sherwood Marauders uses a 6×4 layout with 4,096 paylines, and it comes jam-packed with special features designed to make wins, including an avalanche mechanic with cascading wins, prize multipliers, a super free spins mode, expanding wilds, and so much more.

According to Yggdrasil, the avalanche cascade mechanic is triggered when a win lands on the reels, causing all symbols to disappear. When this happens, new symbols fall from above to fill the empty spaces for a chance to land more wins. When a cascade is triggered, the win multiplier increases by one point and resets when there are no more cascading wins.

Alongside the above, the game’s super free spins mode is triggered by landing three or more bonus symbols, triggering ten spins. Multipliers are awarded to all wins in the free spins mode, and the feature benefits from expanding wilds that can cover entire reels for big wins.

Stuart McCarthy, the Head of Partner Programs at Yggdrasil, said in a statement: “Peter & Sons produce instantly recognisable content and are masters at developing premium titles with unparalleled design and graphics coupled with highly entertaining gameplay.

“Starring a legendary character known around the world and packed with gripping features, this is a title that all slots fans will love and we can’t wait to see what more Peter & Sons will develop through YG Masters.”

Yann Bautista, the Business Development Manager at Peter & Sons, added: “Our unique take on one of the world’s most famous folktales offers players a thrilling and engaging experience while chasing big wins.

“Like all our titles, Robin – Sherwood Marauders is beautifully illustrated with charming characters and music and fun features that keep players on the edge of their seats. Creating our content via GATI ensures a rapid development process and wide distribution and we couldn’t be happier to be part of the YG Masters program.”
