There are hundreds of different game developers that provide their content to casino operators based in the United Kingdom. We’ve seen countless developers work hard to release new casino games and content with groundbreaking mechanics or complete charity work. To celebrate everything they’ve done, we’ve decided to name what we believe were some of this year’s best game studios.
Pragmatic Play was, in our opinion, one of the best game studios this year. The firm released a slew of high-quality and unique casino games, including video slots and live casino games such as John Hunter Book Of Fallen and Quest For Bermuda Riches, the live title Sweet Bonanza Candyland, the feature-rich Super X, and plenty of others. What’s more, the studio has made several charity donations to organisations like the Blondie Association, the Homeless Animal Hospital, and the ANAIS Association in Romania, as well as the Step Up For Parkinson’s organisation in Malta, and many more. No other game studios have stepped up in the way Pragmatic Play has to make a change in the world, and we hope to see more of it in 2022.
Yggdrasil is another top game developer of 2021. Over the last 12 months, we’ve seen the studio release a gigantic selection of casino games, some of which were solely designed by Yggdrasil and others that were released via a partnership with an independent developer through the YG Masters program. Much of these games, like Jumbo Jellies and the video game-inspired Glory Of Heroes, were completely unique in design and gameplay mechanics, and all come with a slew of special features that have been designed to provide you with better chances at making wins and offer more entertainment too. Yggdrasil has been amazing at delivering fun and exciting fresh content, and that’s exactly what players needed to help them through this rough year.
Evolution, formerly Evolution Gaming, is a studio that is known for providing live casino titles. This year, we’ve seen Evolution launch a series of live casino games, including Lightning Blackjack and the live slot hybrid title Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt, and we’ve seen it expand its game portfolio by acquiring Big Time Gaming and launch a bid to acquire Digiwheel. If all of that isn’t enough, the studio has been striking agreements to expand its presence in the US, going as far as launching a dedicated live casino studio with Penn National! Evolution has been working hard to make it the best gambling provider in the world, and we’ve got to take note of that!
Like Yggdrasil, developer Play’n GO has released a giant selection of casino games for you to play, including the licensed KISS slot, several new Charlie Chance games, new Rich Wilde adventures, sequels to the Dead series, and so much more. While most of the slots released use the same traditional slot mechanics found in most other titles, the attention to detail and love put into the development of these games is unparalleled. What’s more, the new games launched all expand some of the most popular franchises in the online slots industry, and that’s fantastic.
