Developer Playson has reimagined one of its most popular video slots of all time – Solar Queen – and revitalised it via Big Time Gaming‘s MegaWays engine.
The studio has today (November 4th) launched Solar Queen MegaWays, an updated version of the firm’s 2019 video slot of the same name. The new MegaWays variation builds on the classic slot by introducing new features, providing you with more entertainment.
Solar Queen MegaWays sends you back to ancient Egypt and uses a 5×6 layout with 7,776 paylines. The game has an RTP of 95.84% with high variance, which means infrequent large wins are much more common than frequent small ones. It also requires a bet of between £0.20 and £100 per spin.
Since Solar Queen MegaWays uses the titular MegaWays game engine, it comes with more special features than the original game. First of all, since the game is on the MegaWays engine, the number of paylines and symbols appearing on screen changes with each spin.
The game has a Wild symbol that substitutes for all other symbols except the Scatter to help create more wins. There’s also the Flaming Frames Feature, where a Sun symbol that lands on the reels transforms into a Flaming Frame and remains locked on the reels.
The Flaming Frame last for ten spins and changes size depending on the layout of the reel. On the tenth and final spin, the Flaming Frames symbol will transform into a wild symbol of any size to help create more wins. Landing a Sun symbol within a Flaming Frame increases the game’s multiplier by one point, but the multiplier resets after a tenth spin.
Solar Queen MegaWays also has a Free Spins mode, which is triggered by landing three Scatter symbols. When this happens, you are rewarded with 10 free spins. When Sun symbols land on the reels during the Free Spins, they immediately transform into Sticky Wild symbols, and multipliers increase by one point when Sun symbols land in a cell with a Wild symbol.
Finally, the game allows you to purchase the Free Spins mode for 100 total bets. Once purchased, you earn 10 free spins with a 1x multiplier. However, the Buy Feature is only available in permitted markets.
