Developer Play’n GO has announced the launch of their latest video slot, The Last Sundown.
The studio’s new game explores a darker theme than previous releases. In the slot, Earth has become a wasteland where resources are controlled by vicious warlords Tuco and Lauro, and siblings Rae and Devin plan to overthrow the warlords to reclaim their resources and hold off The Last Sundown.
Play’n GO’s The Last Sundown uses a 5×3 layout with 243 paylines, and it has an RTP of 94.2% with medium to high variance, meaning you’re given a chance to make both big and small wins. The game requires a minimum bet of £0.10 and £100 per spin, and its symbols include Rae, Devin, Tuco, Lauro, a robotic dog, and various weapons.
The Last Sundown comes with several special features, including Splitting Symbols, where a symbol is randomly selected and split during any regular spin. Excluding the Scatter, any symbol in the game can be split. The game also has Wild symbols, which substitute for all symbols except Scatter symbols.
There’s also a Free Spins mode of eight spins, which is triggered by landing three Scatter Med Pack symbols. During the mode, the Splitting Symbols feature is available and collecting selected symbols can upgrade them to win additional free spins.
Charlotte Miliziano, the Head of Games at Play’n GO, said in a statement: “The inspiration for this game is from the ever-present problems that climate change presents and how society would have to deal with extreme weather conditions. The contrast of the scorching daytime heat to the freezing nights.
“This is our first game that focuses on a dystopian world; we wanted to create a game with really gritty characters that players could get excited about. We see Rae and Devin as the end of the world’s answer to Robin Hood.”
The launch of The Last Sundown comes after previous Play’n GO slot releases such as Legend Of The Ice Dragon, Takes Of Asgard: Loki’s Fortune, Snakebite, Sparky & Shortz, Muerto En Mictlan, Alice Cooper And The Tome Of Madness, Charlie Chance And The Curse Of Cleopatra, among numerous others.
