South East

The South East of England is the third largest region of England and one of the most populous regions. The area is known for hosting some famous events such as the Royal Ascot and Derby as well as the Henley Royal Regatta, but did you know it’s also home to some excellent casinos?

We’ve visited the region’s finest casinos and have decided to select three of our favourites to show you where to go when you’re in the South East.

1. Genting Casino, Portsmouth

Genting Portsmouth

The Genting Casino located in Portsmouth is very different from the others. This version of the popular Genting brand is more modern and focuses much more on electronic and slot machines.

While most Genting casinos offer live roulette, poker and blackjack games, the Portsmouth brand doesn’t.

The casino is open every day from 9 am to 5 am and is a short walk from the local shopping centre and Blue Reef Aquarium. The most popular feature of this casino is the huge game room which is packed with numerous slot machines as well as 17 different electronic roulette tables.

The Genting Casino doesn’t feature its own restaurant, but it does have a bar which sells light snacks, beer, wine and much more. Meanwhile, the casino hosts community jackpots, live sports showings and creates a fun, lively environment.

2. Grosvenor Casino Gunwharf, Portsmouth

Grosvenor Portsmouth

The Grosvenor Casino Gunwharf in Portsmouth recently underwent a £2.3 million refurbishment, and it looks better than ever. The jaw-dropping refurbishment also made the casino’s gaming halls larger in order to meet the high demand in the city.

The casino is hugely popular in Portsmouth, and not just for the gambling. The Gunwharf, which is open 24 hours a day and seven days a week, offers live music as well as 30 electronic roulette terminals, a huge amount of slot machines and 16 traditional casino table games for roulette, three-card poker and blackjack.

It also features a main restaurant and bar which seats around 100 people and has a stage, dance floor and fun disco atmosphere. Live entertainers are regularly booked including comedy and music acts.

3. Genting Casino, Southampton

Genting Casino, Southampton

The Genting Club Terminus Terrace casino in Southampton is a small casino located in the city centre. The casino offers a small number of slot machines as well as eight live casino game tables for baccarat, blackjack and roulette.

Sadly, poker fans will be disappointed to discover that the casino doesn’t offer poker cash games. However, there are enough other casino games to keep visitors entertained.

In addition to this, there are some restrictions on when visitors can play specific games, with the details listed on their official website.

We should also mention that visitors are required to dress smart-casually, and if they look too scruffy they will be turned away.
