The East Midlands is one of the nine regions of England and is home to counties Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland. However, most people don’t realise that the East Midlands has some of the best casinos found in the UK.
We’ve visited the East Midlands’ finest casinos and have selected three of our favourites to show you.
1. Genting Casino, Leicester
The Genting Casino in Leicester is a large, modern and stylish casino found in the heart of Leicester. Previously known as the Mint Casino, the Genting Casino was renamed and underwent a massive refurbishment in 2012, resulting in the exciting and fun casino that it is now.
Open from 11am to 6am every day, the casino offers numerous live tables which each feature well-trained, professional and helpful dealers who can help guide first-timers. The Genting Casino also features a number of slot machines and electronic roulette tables.
Sadly, poker fans will be disappointed to discover that the casino doesn’t poker cash games or tournaments. In return, however, the casino is also home to a popular late-night bar and lounge area in which visitors can relax with their friends, some alcohol or a few light bites to eat.
2. Dusk Till Dawn, Nottingham
The Dusk Till Dawn casino in Nottingham is regarded as one of the best places to visit for some gambling. Found in the centre of Nottingham, the Dusk Till Dawn casino offers one of the largest poker rooms available in Europe as well as numerous tables for other games such as roulette and baccarat.

3. Alea Casino, Nottingham
The Alea Casino can be found in the heart of Nottingham and offers a huge variety of gaming and entertainment options. Open 24 hours a day and seven days a week, the casino is incredibly popular in the town thanks to its professional customer service and exciting games.
Alea is incredibly large as it features two floors for gaming. There’s a total of 17 live casino tables for popular games, five blackjack tables that all feature a progressive jackpot as well as three tables for three-card poker. Also available are 46 machines, 20 which are for slots and 26 electronic roulette machines.
In addition, the casino has a dedicated poker room which features 13 poker tables. Tournaments are held here weekly and the casino has built a reputation for its fun and exciting poker games.
